Wow, this past weekend was a blast! We had so much going on at Appeldoorn's and really enjoyed being a part of all of the events. First off, we were able to have our new food truck up at Garrison Days with Chef Alex Minotte behind the counter selling tasty food. It was a great opportunity to give the community a sneak peak of the quality and flavor our chef is able to create and guests will be able to expect from Spirit Lake Steakhouse once opened in Wahkon.
We were also able to host a bachelor party! The group of guys met us at Appeldoorn's Backwoods Paintball on 169 in Garrison to play for a few hours. After playing they were able to have a few drinks and hit the town for a little while before heading over to Appeldoorn's Resort for a fishing launch with Captain Dave. It looked like everyone had a blast! If you want to make reservations for a group to play at our paintball location call the resort at 320-676-8834 to make a reservation. Some of our guests were also able to go out on some launches that morning/afternoon. What a great day to fish!
However, the biggest (and most special) event we were a part of this weekend was the Cline/Kelley wedding here at Appeldoorn's. The wedding of about 120 took place in our courtyard. The girls did a GREAT job decorating and everything was so beautiful. What a wonderful ceremony. The families were so great and we had a blast helping them with their special day. After the ceremony was over the Bride and Groom were able to take pictures on the beach, docks, courtyard, and many more other beautiful backdrops we have to offer! Everyone then headed into the ballroom (which was also beautifully decorated) and celebrated all night! A delicious dinner was served before the dancing and photo booth began. It really looked like everyone had so much fun.
Throughout all of this I had the opportunity to stop and talk with three newly engaged ladies to discuss the possibility of having a wedding at our location. The Bride and her family this weekend had done such a beautiful job decorating everything anyone who walked by wanted to stop and see! It was getting everyone's attention, so thank you for that! It really got us excited for the rest of our upcoming weddings this fall and the many more to come.
Being a part of so many wonderful events and activities reminded us why we do what we do. Being able to provide our guests and the community with memories that will last a lifetime brings smiles to our faces and all the hard work worth it. Below are some pictures from this fun filled weekend!
